Nomination Criteria:
To be nominated as Student of the Month the candidate must be a current middle school student. The student should exemplify character in and out of the classroom. The nomination is NOT solely based on academics but rather students who are well-rounded citizens and positively contribute to Hayes Bilingual. A student can only receive the award once within the school year. He/she cannot have any write-ups that month. The student must support the Hayes Bilingual/bi-cultural mission and follow PBIS guidelines: Be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.
Who Nominates?
Students will be nominated by Hayes faculty and administration. Each month the staff will be reminded of the nominations and given a form to complete the nomination application. This includes CLC staff and anyone else in the building who works closely with the students. Each staff member can only nominate one (2) students per month per grade. Selections are based on staff nominations and meeting the PBIS’ rubric’s criteria.A student from every homeroom should be represented in your selection. All students should be notified of the criteria to be eligible before the Student of the Month selection begins.
Recognition:
The selected students’ pictures and name will be showcased during the month of recognition both on the school bulletin board by the office and on the school website.
- The administration will also present a Student of the Month certificate to the students.
- They will receive a small pizza party and lunch with the teacher of their choice.
- At the end of the school year, the staff will choose a Student of the Year in each grade from the selected students. There will also be an end of the year raffle prize drawing for these students as well.

Criterio de evaluación:
Para ser nominado como el estudiante del mes los candidatos tienen que pertenecer a la escuela intermedia. El estudiante debe ser ejemplo dentro y fuera del salón de clases. La nominación NO es solamente académica sino los estudiantes que son ciudadanos que contribuyen a la escuela Hayes Bilingual. El estudiante solamente recibirá el honor una vez por año escular. El estudiante no puede tener ningun escrito a la administración. El estudiante debe patrocinar la mission cultural y seguir las reglas de PBIS: ser respetuoso, responsable y seguro.
¿Quién es nominado?
Los estudiantes serán nominados por la facultad y miembros de la administración. Todo los meses los miembros de la facultad será recordada de las nominaciones y que deberán entregar la pagina de nominación. Esto incluye el personal del CLC y cualquier persona que trabaje seriamente con los estudiantes. Toda la facultad solamente podrá nominar (2) estudiantes por grado por mes. Las selecciones son decididas por la facultad y las reglas de PBIS. Un estudiante de cada grado deberá ser representado en la selección. Todos los estudiantes deberán ser informados de los criterios antes de que la selección sea finalizada.
Reconocimiento:
La fotografía y nombre del estudiante ganador será mostrado durante el mes en el boletín cerca de la oficina y en la página web de la escuela.

La administración presentará un certificado de estudiante del mes al estudiante ganador.

Tendran un pequeño “pizza party” y un almuerzo con un maestro de su preferencia.

Al final del año escolar los maestro y personal docente votaran para seleccionar el estudiante del año. También tendrán una rifa de los estudiantes ganadores.
